Jennifer Crossett
Jennifer Crossett is Managing Member of Woody Creek Management Group, which she founded in 2006. She oversees estate and asset protection planning, trust and estate administration, asset management, real estate management, financial reporting, philanthropy, foundation administration, insurance, and human resource matters for her clients. She also oversees the day-to-day operations of several client-owned business entities and investments, acts as Treasurer and Director of three private foundations, and serves as fiduciary for several client estates and trusts.
Prior to forming WCM, Jennifer was a partner at Holland & Hart LLP, where she practiced tax and estate planning law in Denver and Aspen. Before then, Jennifer was an associate at Davis Polk & Wardwell in New York, where she practiced in the mergers and acquisitions, executive compensation, and estate planning groups.
Jennifer graduated from Harvard Law School, cum laude. Before law school, she was an analyst with T.R. Winston & Company, a boutique stock brokerage firm with offices in Bedminster, NJ, New York, and Beverly Hills. Jennifer graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in History, summa cum laude, where she was also elected to the Phi Beta Kappa Society.
Jennifer is certified as a Master Certified Independent Trustee by the Independent Trustee Alliance, and she is also a 21/64 Certified Advisor. She currently serves as the Vice Chairperson of the Board of the Denver School of the Arts Friends Foundation.
AMY ROOD
Member
Amy Rood
Amy Rood is a Member of WCM. She currently oversees all financial operations for all WCM clients. Her duties include income tax compliance and coordination with outside CPAs, financial reporting, trust and estate administration, accounting and bookkeeping, asset management, insurance oversight, and employee management.
Prior to joining WCM, Amy managed a single-family office in Denver, where she was responsible for all accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and asset management functions. She also created financial reports, coordinated and executed complex financing arrangements, oversaw compliance with securities laws and tax regulations, managed multiple commercial and residential properties, and supervised the family’s direct employees.
Amy also served as an accounting supervisor for the Insurance & Leads Division of Bankrate.com, where she managed accounts in the Denver, San Francisco and Sacramento offices.
Amy graduated from The Colorado College with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Business, and she also attended The London School of Economics. Amy currently serves on the Women’s Foundation of Colorado Investment Committee. She is a native of Colorado.
MIRA FINÉ
Mira Finé
Mira has assisted clients with tax planning and compliance, with specialization in partnerships, estates, trusts, and succession planning. Mira joined WCM in January 2021, after an illustrious career in public accounting. She served as a partner at Hein & Associates, and then Moss Adams, for 35 years, where she headed the tax department until a few years ago and also served as the National Director of Tax. She also headed up the Real Estate Committee and served as the regional Private Client Group leader. Mira has been honored by the Colorado Society of CPAs for her significant not-for-profit and volunteer contributions, and she has received the Denver Business Journal’s Power Book Award. She was also named one of the top wealth advisors and estate planners for multiple years in Colorado Business Magazine and 5280 Magazine. Mira has developed materials and videos for numerous wealth planning articles and books, and she served as a business tax resource for KUSA, Denver’s NBC-affiliated television station.
Mira currently serves on the Professional Advisory Board of the Denver Foundation, the Trusted Advisor Board of the Children’s Hospital Foundation, and the National Jewish Development Board. She is a member of the American Institute of Public Accountants, the Denver Estate Planning Council, and the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants, where she also served as Chairperson. Mira received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Taxation from the University of Denver.
SARAH CHAFAI
Sarah Chafai
Sarah Chafai joined WCM as an accounting and tax manager, and she serves clients in a variety of roles including bookkeeping, accounts payable, financial reporting, document tracking, financial analysis, tax return preparation support, and special projects.
Prior to joining WCM, Sarah held several enterprise software sales roles with domestic and global technology companies, including Gartner, SAP (Seagate), Vitria Technology and FIS/SunGard, where she focused on Fortune 500 clients.
Sarah began her career as a CPA with Deloitte and holds an accounting degree from Oklahoma State University.
Sarah volunteers her time with at-risk youth and has served as a Family Advocate for youth involved in Denver’s juvenile justice systems.
ELEANOR CHRISTENSON
Eleanor Christenson
Eleanor Christenson oversees the administration of several client private foundations, by coordinating board and investment meetings, preparing meeting materials, and overseeing corporate governance and regulatory compliance. She also researches nonprofit organizations, coordinates and executes grant application and decision processes, and communicates with grant applicants and recipients. In addition to foundation administration, Eleanor performs numerous accounting and bookkeeping functions, including the preparation of financial reports, processing of accounts payable, and communication with vendors. Eleanor also assists clients with luxury travel plans and concierge services as requested.
Prior to joining WCM, Eleanor was an English Professor at Harper College and College of Lake County, both located near Chicago, Illinois. She earned her Master’s of Arts degree in English from DePaul University and graduated from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in English Literature. She moved to Denver after the birth of her nephew, the first Colorado native of her family.
BRUCE DOTSON
Bruce Dotson
Bruce serves several multi-generation families and their related trusts, businesses, and private foundations. He focuses on brokerage and private investment account reconciliations, as well as financial report preparation. In addition, Bruce is responsible for the firm’s application development projects.
Prior to joining WCM, Bruce worked as a software development manager for Oracle Corp., where his teams were responsible for application design, development, and maintenance of enterprise-scale finance systems. Most recently he was co-owner and proprietor of a small business providing contract back-office and event planning services.
Bruce graduated with Bachelor of Science degrees in Accounting and in Computer Information Systems from the University of Colorado at Denver. He has also passed the Uniform CPA exam.
JEANINE OWEN
Jeanine Owen
Jeanine Owen serves several WCM families and their related foundations, business entities, and trusts. She prepares financial reports, performs cash flow analyses, reconciles accounts, and processes accounts payable and receivable.
Prior to joining WCM, Jeanine served as Controller, Vice President of Finance, and Chief Financial Officer at several private and publicly held companies. She has an extensive background in multi-disciplinary accounting, human resources, financial and business management, and she has worked in the engineering, real estate, land development, construction, commercial property management, trusts and estates, and home health care industries.
Jeanine is an alumna of Metropolitan State University of Denver, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting. She is a second-generation Denver native, mother of two daughters and a son, and she enjoys an active lifestyle, family, community, and the great Colorado outdoors.
